Zhangye part 1

Train and Temple

Today an 1100 km train from Xi’an to Zhang ye, 100s of km of which were through tunnels. First half of trip basically 245 k-h second half around 198 kph.

Very comfortable

Scenery ranged from urban to narrow valkeys between ranges eventually opening out to better soil and intensive cultivation.

On arrival we visited a 900 year old temple quite artistic in places and then dinner at the local food market. Dog tired at the end of the day and my insertional tendinitis which was no problem walking dog 6 km on rocky hilly tracks in Lindfield has painfully recurred. I can only blame the luggage carrying.
